UTD Construction – Forward Progress!
by Jason on Apr.26, 2009, under Photoshoots
Many of you know I’m doing some photography for the University, mainly because you attend with me, but others on the outside might be interested in the projects that are going on that will have the campus looking pretty sexy by the Fall.
UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) is building dormitories, a dining hall, a new math and science building, and a large commons area/landscape project. They are also “beautifying” the campus with a lot of trees, as well, and renovating the Founders building. All of this is costing a fortune, and unfortunately I won’t get to experience the new facilities I helped pay for, but nonetheless its pretty cool that I get to chronicle the process.
I’m doing a time lapse type project, capturing each building/area from various different angles on a weekly basis. There’s no real “end product” goal at the moment, but I’m hoping some of the images will be framed and placed in the buildings, and I’m sure they’ll be used on the website, etc. When all the facilities are complete, I hope to get some really fantastic architectural shots; maybe they’ll even let me light the buildings!
Here’s a glimpse at the current state of the dorms, math/science building, dining hall, and common area/landscaping project.
